MORE Sketchbook Studies

That's right, more no-reference sketches, and I must say, I'm pretty pleased with the stuff I'm drawing in this book. 

What we have this time:  An Andrewsarchus mongoliensis depicted as it should be; a big, pig-like cetartiodactyl. 

And below, two separate individual Felis catus (which I accidentally misspelled with two t's in the picture).  Why do they have such strange features?  They are my father's cats.  Both born black and with tails reduced to little stubs.  The more robust one on the top is Shadow, the male, who has a frog in his mouth (which is his favorite thing to catch).  The more gracile, petite one on the bottom is his sister; Sheila.  She's stalking unseen prey.  I was particularly proud of how well the skull came out, considering that I had no reference.
