Description

A medium-sized ceratopsid about 6 meters (19.6 ft) in length.  It's name comes from the bony growths covering the frill, said to have some resemblance to the Greek monster Medusa.  Its frill was quite short for a chasmosaurine, and it was among one of the oldest members of it's subfamily.  It had a short, bony knob on it's nose, not unlike that of it's cousin Achelousaurus.  It's horns were of medium length, and grew out to the side like that of Arrhinoceratops.  It lived during the Late Cretaceous, 77 mya, and was native to the USA, discovered in the Judith River Formation.
