Description
A basal synapsid known from the Sakmarian epoch of the Early Permian; Tetraceratops's exact phylogenetic affiliations are unknown. It's been suggested to be a Pelycosaur or at the very least a basal therapsid. All that is known of the animal is the skull; notable for it's 4 small hornlets. The adult size of Tetraceratops is speculated to be around 1 meter (3.2 feet) in length, and is a seemingly carnivorous creature; probably preying on small reptiles and amphibians. In turn, it could have been preyed upon by larger synapsids. It's remains are known from Texas.
