A little something for 's Project Terra Fabulosa

The Ahuizotl or Sun Dog.  The Ahuizotl is a large, possum-like Procyonid from the Caribbean (or whatever the Terra Fabulosa equivalent is).  It is much more carnivorous than other procyonids.  It is about the size of a small Black Bear of our universe, and it is very tenacious.  It is a versatile animal; comfortable in both water and in the trees.  It is notable for using its prehensile tail (often mistaken for a hand by early explorers) to grasp and strangle prey.  It has been reported to kill wild pigs in this manner.  Aside from it's tail, it normally uses its powerful jaws and claws to take down prey, which includes pigs, monkeys, large birds, bug larvae and fish.  It also eats a bit of plant matter too in the form of fruits, nuts, berries, and fungi.  It is very aggressive to humans, and it has been known to kill them.
